Mystery Booster Commander Edition Rules Changes

Mystery Booster Commander Edition brings real game changes: Rulebreaker changes deck construction, while 59 new designs and one digital-to-paper card join the main group. New cards become Commander-legal on November 13, 2026; Legacy and Vintage follow on January 1, 2027. The Festival in a Box sale began October 19. Rulebreaker is a permission, not two charges

It changes deck construction before the game. There is no general “first two casts only” limit; read your designated commander’s exact exception.

Urza’s Incubator does not erase commander tax

With Angel chosen and no other modifiers, Seluma costs 2 generic + W, then 4 generic + W, then 6 generic + W on successive command-zone casts. The white mana must still be paid.

What's new in the card pool

The main group contains 59 new designs plus Tsagan’s first paper printing. The card page separates these from 2,022 stamped reprints, Future Sight treatments, playtests and acorn cards.

Release date and formats

October 19 is the bundle’s on-sale date. November 13 starts Commander eligibility for new cards and MagicCon: Atlanta; January 1, 2027 starts their Eternal eligibility. Neither date guarantees delivery.
